Originally from Middlesbrough, Stuart left school at the age of 16 with one ‘O’ Level in Art and joined the army (Royal Signals), and did

three Northern Ireland tours with bomb disposal and attached to the SAS. He left the army aged 22 to get married and became an HGV

lorry driver. He had a life-changing accident at the age of 26 in 1985 and competed in the Barcelona Paralympic Games in 1992. He

became a Christian in a sudden conversion experience through his elder brother Charles when he was 37 years old. He worked in sports

development with disabled people for eight years, completed a Sports Management MSc in 1997 and became a university lecturer

(sociology of sport). He completed his PhD when he was 60. He is married with two sons and five grandchildren and claims to be a highly

trained Granddad. His story will inspire you to seriously consider meeting Jesus for yourself.
